Winter Love Island 2020: Meet the 12 contestants

After months of anticipation, Love Island is back with more fun in the sun as the new contestants are headed to the new villa in Cape Town, South Africa. Keep scrolling to learn more about Love Island 2020’s starting line-up.

Britain’s Love Island has returned on ITV2 on Sunday, the 12th of January with a fresh winter edition. 12 new singletons are looking for love and the chance to win £50k in the process.

Our line-up sees a brand new cast of characters hoping to find love, including Rochelle Humes’ sister Sophie Piper heading to the Love Island villa along with a former Miss Ghana UK contestant and, for the first time, female twins.

Last year’s contest was won by Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea in what proved to be one of the most controversial series in the show’s history.

Here’s what you need to know about Love Island’s 2020 line-up.

Leanne Amaning

Age: 22

Job: Customer service advisor

Coupled up with: Mike

Leanne says her ideal man is “someone who is rugged and manly, not anyone with a pretty face. I also want someone loyal and trustworthy. ” She adds: “I’m good with banter but if someone is too rude, I don’t like it.”

Siânnise Fudge

Age: 25

Job: Beauty consultant

Coupled up with: Nas

Siânnise describes her ideal man as “tall, dark and handsome – I’m after my own Aladdin, I guess”. Her biggest turn-off is arrogance.

Eve and Jess Gale

Age: 20

Job: Students and VIP hostesses

Coupled up with: Currently single

Eve and Jess are the first female twins to enter the Love Island villa and since they share the “ultimate girl code”, it seems they won’t be fighting over the same man… or will they?

Shaughna Phillips

Age: 25

Job: Democratic services officer

Coupled up with: Callum

Shaunna’s ideal man would be “funny, a little bit smart. I want someone I can watch the news with and have a conversation about it. I also want someone that gets along with their parents.” Her turn-off is “someone that’s not listening to you”.

Sophie Piper

Age: 21

Job: Medical PA

Coupled up with: Connor

Sophie’s ideal man is “kind with something about them, someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously. I like confident but not cocky.”

Paige Turley

Age: 22

Job: Singer

Coupled up with: Ollie

Paige says of her ideal man: He’s got to be quite witty with a bit of banter and something about him. I like a guy with a strong personality, he knows who he is and what he wants.”

Mike Boateng

Age: 24

Job: Police officer

Coupled up with: Leanne

London boy Mike, the show’s first police officer, admits that he can use the cheeky lines about getting handcuffs out! ” It normally works.”

Connor Durman

Age: 25

Job: Coffee bean salesman

Coupled up with: Sophie

Connor is hoping to find an outgoing girl he can introduce to everyone and he isn’t afraid of putting himself out to get the love of his life.

Callum Jones

Age: 23

Job: Scaffolder

Coupled up with: Shaughna

Callum says he always fancies girls with “dark hair, tanned skin, red lipstick and white nail polish”. Very specific.

Nas Majeed

Age: 23

Job: Sports science graduate and builder

Coupled up with: Siannise

Nas thinks he’s different to other islanders and he’s looking for a “cute and funny” girl to take home with him. However, he has a habit of laughing during awkward situations which viewers are sure to see throughout the series.

Ollie Williams

Age: 23

Job: Heir to the Lanhydrock Estate

Coupled up with: Paige

He rates himself a 10/10 and claims his best chat-up line is: “Do you know Polzeath beach in Cornwall? I own it.”
