1. ‘From TV to TikTok: Family time has evolved’ TikTok provides insights on how older users are engaging on the platform
While TikTok is primarily the domain of younger audiences, older users are also becoming increasingly active on the platform, according to recently published insight from TikTok. In a pitch to marketers on the potential of the platform for reaching parents, TikTok has shared some new data on how older people are using the platform to stay connected, and how brands can tap into these trends to maximize their campaign performance.
2. Facebook launches new video speed dating app in latest NPE experiment
Facebook’s experimental NPE – or ‘New Product Experimentation’ – team has begun initial testing of its latest project, a video speed dating app called ‘Sparked’ which will enable users to hold 4-minute video chats with potential matches in order to better decide on their suitability before moving forward.
3. Facebook also launches new ‘Social Skills’ business tips video series
Facebook is launching a new, seven-part video series which aims to provide social media managers with the skills and insights they need to maximize their performance. the new series will interview a range of social media experts, who’ve built their businesses on Facebook’s platforms, who will each share their knowledge as to how to boost response, maximize engagement and build communities.

4. Dulux’s Twitter trolling of Tottenham takes gloss off club’s new sponsorship
Tottenham’s new commercial partnership with Dulux got off to a rocky start on Thursday after the paint supplier mocked the club on Twitter. Spurs announced that Dulux had become the club’s official paint supplier, but they were soon mocked by their new partner in hastily deleted tweets, with the social media team hitting the wrong tone. An apology was later tweeted by the company.

5. After nonstop 31-day stream, Ludwig breaks Ninja’s all-time Twitch subscriber record
For 31 days, Ludwig Ahgren’s stream has been up and running all day every day. Since the beginning, a timer has been counting down to zero, but every time somebody kicks in a subscription, ten seconds get added to the clock. Now Ahgren has more subscriptions than anybody else in Twitch history. He has now officially broken Tyler “Ninja” Blevins record of 269,154 subscriptions.

6. H&M launches clothes recycling island on Animal Crossing featuring digital Maisie Williams
H&M has enlisted Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams for its debut on smash hit video game Animal Crossing: New Horizons, with a sustainability-themed island designed to promote the brand’s recently launched garment recycling machine Looop. A digital twin of Williams, called “Avatar Maisie”, has been created by 3D animators at Goodbye Kansas Studio to appear in a launch film for the project.
