If you’re looking for the best option out of the many New Year’s TikTok trends out there to romanticise your 2023 to, then look no further.

Users have been sprinting to join in on this trend, which sees creators posting an aesthetic wrap-up of all the best moments of their year, set to the popular sound by Minlee; a sound which now has 45.5K videos. Many users have taken to using the polaroid template, to create a collage-like effect over their videos.

Major brands have been joining in on the fun too, with big names such as McLaren Racing posting their own takes on the trend. For those looking to partake, consider showing off your employees’ successes over the year, or silly clips that show off company culture. This trend is a great way to showcase brand identity, but also to simply pat yourself on the back for making it through another year.

Setting goals for the upcoming year is a tradition observed across the globe. Whether or not one sticks to those goals, is another thing entirely.

This trend sees users sharing the healthy habits and goals they have planned for 2024. A series of videos by Shelby Sacco arguably kick-started the trend, with the series receiving over 85K views on its more popular videos.

As with many New Year’s TikTok trends, users have been loving this trend’s self-love aspect, with many claiming they are aiming to glow-up and be ‘That Girl’ in 2024. For brands hoping to join in, this trend is a great opportunity to have your employees share their own goals for 2024; perhaps in an office vox pop style, with different workers all sharing how they are getting ready for the New Year.

Common themes are baseball caps, micro-patterns, Gossip Girl style riding boots, and silky tops. One user, @glowupu, has been particularly prominent in this trend, with her videos receiving upwards of 100K views.

Fashion predictions joins the ranks of the many New Year’s TikTok trends that allow brands to showcase their products. Consider a carousel outlining which of your products fit into the predicted 2024 trends, or, make your own predictions centred around your line.

Creating the perfect New Years outfit is practically a year-long endeavour; and these users know it.

This trend has quickly climbed the New Year’s TikTok trends chart, by encouraging users to show off their New Year’s party outfits. From sequined jumpsuits to barely-there chainmail tops, New Years eve 2023 is going to be chock-a-block with exquisitely-dressed fashion girlies. As with each year, common themes are black sequins, gold glitter, and anything shiny. Bows are making a big feature this year as well, carrying over from the Christmas season hype.

For brands, this trend is once again amongst the New Year’s TikTok trends that are a simple yet effective way to show off how your products can help users achieve their New Years dreams. Try-on videos are particularly popular within this trend, so be sure to tap into the format to reach as many users as possible.

New years vision boards

Vision boards make a feature in New Year’s TikTok trends every year and 2023 is no different.

Users are using this trend to share their vision boards for 2024. Many videos see users and their friends physically creating a collage of images that they hope their 2024 will embody. Other creators have taken to reminding their audiences to create their vision boards before it is too late. This trend is sure to rise up through the ranks of New Year’s TikTok trends as the end of December draws closer, yet as it stands #2024visionboard already has 12.1M views.

Unlike the other New Year’s TikTok trends  we have covered, this trend is the perfect opportunity for brands to show off their office culture. To join in, perhaps your employees could create their own vision boards and share them with the office.

A lot can happen in a year, especially for the younger generation that calls TikTok home.

This trend features creators showing an image of themselves at both the start and end of 2023; showing the happiness glow-up that many users experienced over the course of the year.

Brands hoping to join in could show off their employees at the start of the year versus the end, or, how their company has grown. Ultimately, this trend is all about authenticity, so be sure to be genuine in your recreation to really hit the nail on the head.

For the makeup lovers out there, New Years is the highlight of the calendar year; it’s the only day of the year where wearing twenty kilos of glitter is a totally acceptable move.

The blindingly-bright creations are already rolling in, with frosted eyelids and glittery cheekbones seeming to be the get go.

This trend is a gold mine for beauty brands, who can easily join in on the festivities by showing how their products can be used to create the perfect New Years look. For other brands, try showing off your office’s New Years makeup and the groovy looks they’re rocking to get into the party mood.

Year of transitions

@kaseyzach

what a year

♬ tbtrack – Maylene

Unlike other New Year’s TikTok trends,  this trend is not for the faint of heart.

Brave and dedicated users have committed to filming themselves once a month for the whole year. Quite the endeavour, but one that is filling our For You Pages with wonderful videos showing how users have grown and changed over the course of 2023; all to the feel good 2000’s bop ‘See you Again’ by Miley Cyrus.

Unfortunately for brands, unless you took the pledge in January to join in on this trend, you will have to sit this one out. However, if you’re willing to take the plunge, now’s the time to set up and plan your 2024 year of transitions.

POV: You ate 12 grapes at Midnight

@jawin__

a special shout out to the hispanics/spanish for this superstition ?? #12grapes #12uvas

♬ original sound – Jo Wuensche

A long-standing cultural practice originating in Spain, this trend may seem a bit odd at first glance to the uninitiated.

For many people across the world, it is believed to be good luck to eat 12 grapes at midnight on New years eve whilst sitting under a table. Participants in the trend are showing off how their 12 grapes brought them good fortune in 2023, by sharing their glow up.

For brands, this is a great opportunity to once again show off your company culture and establish authenticity with your audience. Why not have your employees share their wishes and manifestations for the New Year in a light and funny manner?

From New Year’s decorations, get-ready-with-mes, and adorable moments captured as the clock struck twelve, the sheer variety of content posted from the big night is immense. Though we must wait with bated breath to see how this New Year’s Eve officially pans out, it’s not too early to start planning your content for the big day.

Popular content ideas from previous New Year’s TikTok trends include humorous content from office end of year parties, Carousels showcasing how your brand’s products are a must have for the perfect New Year’s Eve, and more. Be sure to stay genuine and emphasise all the hard work that your employees have done this year. We made it through another one, congratulations!
