SP Diaries #3: Lola Delesalle, Junior Creative

Lola Delesalle sure knows.

This week on SP Diaries, we spoke to Lola Delesalle, to give us the low down on her role and all that it entails. From valuable lessons she’s learned, to her best advice for new starters, Lola covers it all.

When did you start working at SP?

I started working at SP in June 2022.

What is your role?

I am a Junior Creative. 

What does that entail?

The best thing about my role is that it’s multifaceted. From content creation to copywriting and developing creative proposals, we work with various clients and no two projects are the same. I also work with our in-house production team and sometimes go on out-of-office shoots, which adds more diversity to my role. 

What does an average week look like for you?

On an average week, I usually work on a proposal which includes finding relevant insights that inform our creative, building a strong creative message and developing engaging social first concepts that will bring it to life. Additionally, I also manage the TikTok account of one of our clients and regularly film content for them, which is the part I enjoy the most!

Why did you choose SP/want to work for them?

I was very keen to gain experience in a fast paced environment and SP offered an internship opportunity that I was super excited about. It seemed like a hard-working but also very open and balanced agency which really made me want to join. 

 

What do you like about working at SP?

The thing I appreciate the most is the trust I was given from such an early stage. I found it so empowering, and it really helped me build more confidence at work. When I started, I was just out of uni and I barely had any experience, but I got to work on so many different things in such a small amount of time that I learned more than I could ever imagine. Looking back, I can’t believe I haven’t even been there for 2 years. 

What do you like about working within this industry?

I love that this industry is fast-paced and rapidly evolving because it teaches you to evolve with it. It never gets boring. 

What’s the most valuable thing you’ve learned across your career so far?

It doesn’t matter how much experience you have, if you believe in yourself enough, people will believe in you too.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve overcome at SP?

Not being afraid to ask questions and make mistakes. 

How has your career path/vision changed over the years?

I always knew I wanted to work within the creative industry but I didn’t necessarily see myself working in digital marketing. Working at SP was a great opportunity to sharpen my skills and unlock new ones in various areas, which has helped me gain confidence and taught me a lot about myself. 

What advice would you give to someone starting out in your role?

Live, Laugh, Love.✌️And remember that we all start somewhere, so keep going because you’re doing great!
