Top 10 LGBTQ podcasts You Must Follow in 2023

Podcasts are becoming increasingly more popular by it’s listeners and also those who produce. It has become another way of communicating different topics and conversations. Podcasts are so easy to consume. Listeners can be active or passive consumers, making it a great entertainment source for multitasking. As a result of this, podcasts can keep consumers engaged for more than 30 minutes—that’s significantly longer than other forms of media. 

Below we will be showcasing who has made the top ten LGBT Podcast list, and naming who are the ones to be listening to this year. 

The top 10 best LGBTQ podcasts in 2022

Ranked by traffic, social media followers, domain authority & freshness; at the top of the list we have Queer Theology, based in the US. This podcast has been hosted by Brian G. Murphy and Fr. Shannon TL Kearns for over six years, discussing LGBTQ perspectives on a different Bible passage each week, as well as discussing key LGBTQ dates and current events too. 

In second place, over in the US, we have Dumb Gay Polotics. This joins Julie Goldman (the gay) and Brandy Howard (the dumb) as they talk about the week in politics, as if they were talking about reality TV. Dumb Gay Polotics podcast started in 2016 and has been thriving since. 

California podcast Big Gay Fiction comes in third of the top ten best LGBTQ podcasts in 2022. Hosted by Jeff Adams and Will Knauss, The Big Gay Fiction Podcast is for avid readers and passionate fans of gay romance fiction. Each week brings you exclusive author interviews, book recommendations, and explorations into the latest in gay pop culture.

Next in line of the best LGBTQ podcasts, we have Horror Queers in fourth. Each week, Joe Lipsett and Trace Thurman, the hosts of the Chicago based podcast, discuss a horror film with LGBTQ+ themes, a high camp quotient or both. 

Just after is Geeky Gay podcast. Adam Burns’ podcast is a window into his life as a “Gay Geek”. Covering tech themed content, his travels or sometimes just covering mundane triviality, the average length of Adam’s podcasts are 12 minutes—so great for a short and sweet listen.

Number six we have Being LGBTQ. Based in the UK, Being LGBTQ podcast is hosted by Sam Wise. The podcast features interviews with people from across the community. Aspiring to provide a platform to those who feel underrepresented, Sam Wise discusses the latest issues impacting the community, amplifies the voices of LGBTQ people, and signposts you to the latest LGBTQ music artists. 

Rated LGBT Radio is seventh in the list of best LGBTQ podcasts so far in 2022. Host Rob Watson produces an hour of engaging and lively conversation on a variety of topics involving the LGBT community, featuring co-host Brody Levesque! Rated LGBT Radio is based in LA, with 2 episodes going live each week. 

Coming in at number eight is LGBTQ&A. This podcast is based in LA and hosted by Jeffrey Masters. Providing the ultimate weekly interviews with the most interesting LGBTQ+ people globally, LGBTQ&A’s recent guests include Laverne Cox, Roxane Gay, Pete Buttigieg, and Trixie Mattel. Jeffrey Masters is the host, however, the podcast is also produced by The Advocate magazine, and in partnership with GLAAD.

Coming in ninth is the London based podcast, Lesbian Lounge. Join host Denise Warner, an American lesbian living in London, to discuss LGBT News, celebrity interviews, hot topics, gossip, events, new music, cool LGBT projects, and much more.

By the Bi makes it to number 10 on the list. This podcast is all about learning more about bisexuality, the swinger community, open relationships, BDSM, and “everything else your vanilla friends refuse to talk with you about.” By the Bi is based in Australia, hosted by the bisexual ex-pat couple, The Atoms. 

There are many more LGBTQ podcasts that make the list of best podcasts in 2022, and include topics and content such as; Drag Queen, coming out later in life, LGBT movie subtext, cocktail recipe, and breaking down the stereotypes.

There are countless podcasts, let alone LGBTQ podcasts around the world. Podcasts are extremely popular in today’s society as there are over 30 million podcast episodes in the world. It’s no wonder that social media podcasts are in high demand as they attract regular listeners through their frequent content that is easily accessible online.
