We love the aesthetic of your Instagram Feed! How important is it to keep up the HD quality photos and engaging captions? Do they help draw in more curious followers?
I pride my content on being high-quality, in a growing industry I feel it is this that helps my feed to stand out.
Tell us about your background and how you started to build your following.
I run a lifestyle publication called Bounce Magazine, I started to do reviews through my editorial roles and popped them on my Instagram, I started to get a following, which grew further after I had my first child.
Which platforms do you predominantly use? Which is your favourite for posting and which is your favourite for community engagement?
Instagram, as I love filmmaking and photography.
What type of content do you create (video/static etc), and which type works best for your audience?
I create 50/50 of each but everything I post has to be authentic and from a real place, which is why I feel people can relate to me.
In your own words and experience, how would you define “influencer marketing”?
I don’t like the word influencer, I think it is becoming overused, I feel I am more of a content creator, it involves a lot more behind the scenes.
Why do you think influencer marketing is so powerful today?
Word-of-mouth marketing has always been one of the most powerful forms of marketing, Influencer Marketing is very similar but it’s just reaching more people via an online source.
Have you worked with brands before? How do you decide which brands to work with?
I work with brands on a daily basis, I only work with brands I would actually use – I decline brands that don’t reflect my lifestyle or fit my personality.
How do you think influencer marketing will change over the next 12 months?
I feel it will become more niche, brands will have to choose who they work with more carefully as there are so many of us now.
Do you use any software to help create and edit your content?
I use Final Cut Pro to edit my videos and Lightroom to edit my photos. I post in real time so don’t use publishing platforms.
How do you balance your online and offline lives?
It’s tough but I only post on my grid two times a week to ensure I get a break in between, this helps me schedule projects. I post continuously on my stories to make up for the time in between.
Which influencers inspire you?
I prefer influencers who take the time to compose high-end and consistent content. I’m not into celeb culture, but prefer the more authentic real-life accounts.
Where would you like to take your career as an influencer?
I am happy to keep organically growing, I love the fantastic opportunities that my family and I get to be involved in. If I can continue to enrich my children’s lives by giving them fun experiences then that is good enough for me.
