Top 10 Most Followed TikTok Accounts in 2023

TikTok has broken user and download records by providing short-form and binge worthy video content. TikTok’s user base continues to grow quarter after quarter and crushes competition from Instagram, Triller and Snapchat.

While the average age of TikTok users are those within Gen Z, the platform is being largely adopted by Millennials, Gen Xers and Boomers. Though the platform and the most followed TikTok users continue to be dominated by Gen Z, this could change within the coming years.

With the potential of targeting over 1 billion people, brands have begun using TikTok creators to amplify influencer marketing campaigns by cross-promoting through the vast followings these top TikTok users have created.

We’ve compiled a list of the hottest TikTok creators brands should be aware of. The most popular TikTok users have garnered a huge combined following of over 700 million.

The Top 10 Most Followed TikTokkers

1. Charli D’Amelio: 121.9 million followers

Charli D’Amelio became the most followed TikTok creator in March 2020 and in November 2020, was the first TikTok account to reach 100 million followers. Charli dethroned Lauren Gray to become the “Queen of TikTok”.

She first started creating content in June 2019 and became massively popular from her dances. She averages 27 million views per video, has nearly 10 billion likes and charges around $30 per sponsored post. Alongside long-term partnerships with Hollister and Dunkin’, Charli and her sister Dixie have a joint makeup line with Morphe.

2. Khabane Lame: 99.9 million followers

Khabane Lame is a Sebegakese-born TickToker based in Italy. Khabane started TikTok in March 2020 after losing his job in a factory as a result of the pandemic. Posting under the name Khaby Lame, the popular TikTok creator was successful in harnessing the momentum of viral and complicated life hack videos by responding to the videos with wordless reaction clips where he would do the same task in a simple way. Although his early posts were exclusively in Italian, Khabane has said his muted reactions are a “global language.”

@khaby.lameIt’s better to give for who can’t afford it! Guys don’t do this! Dalla a chi ne ha bisogno ##learnfromkhaby ##learnwithtiktok ##imparacontiktok♬ suono originale – Khabane lame

Khabane’s rise to TikTok stardom has been entirely organic. He hasn’t joined any TikTok creator houses or relied on buying followers and views. His rise to popularity has been authentic and his work doesn’t have the polished production value of the TikTok stars now embraced by Hollywood.

He has his own fan pages that operate in English, German, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish and more. He has been contacted by well-known creators for collaborations and has worked with Italian pasta maker Barilla.

3. Addison Rae: 82.3 million followers

Similar to Charli D’Amelio, Addison Rae became popular on TikTok from her dancing videos; in August 2020, Addison’s version of the WAP dance became the most shared TikTok of all time with 1.6 million shares.

Her popularity has resulted in numerous brand partnerships including CoverGirl, Skechers, Bounty, Chipotle, Reebok and American Eagle. She was the highest earning TikTokker in 2020 earning an estimated $5 million. She has also started her own makeup line Item Beauty.

In 2021, she launched her music career with a single called “Obsessed” and is part of the highly prolific TikTok creator collective Hype House.
